Cooperation prospects discussed during Uzbekistan – Pakistan political consultations

The 6th round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and Pakistan has taken place.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the delegations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Aamar Aftab Qureshi.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – Pakistan multifaceted cooperation.

Mutual interest was expressed in deepening trade, economic, investment, transport and communication ties. The main attention was paid to regional issues, primarily ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan, restoring its economy through the joint implementation of socio-economic and infrastructure projects.

The organizational aspects of the participation of the Pakistani side at the International High-Level Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held on 15-16 July 2021 in Tashkent were considered.
